'Eitleán’ meaning 'Aeroplane' in Irish, is pronounced ‘Etch-e-lawn’ – a nod to Annette’s native homeland and Mark’s love of all things aero!

Mark has more than twenty years experience in the Airport sector in a range of commercial and strategic aviation roles, successfully developing route networks and improving regional connectivity at airports across the UK, Europe and the Middle East.

 

Having started his career at British Aerospace, Mark has worked at Liverpool John Lennon Airport during its rapid expansion in the early 2000’s, Brussels Airport as it successfully entered the low cost airline market, and Abu Dhabi Airports Company where Mark expertly attracted a number of global airlines to the rapidly expanding Emirate.

 

Most recently, Mark returned to Liverpool and was the Airport’s Strategy Director where he devised and developed the Airport’s long term Vision and Masterplan, in close consultation with the Region’s key stakeholders.

 

Mark has a Masters degree in Air Transport Management from Cranfield University in the UK, and a Bachelors degree in Air Transport Engineering from City University in London.

Throughout her career, Annette has worked in a number of sales and marketing roles with both airlines and tourism bodies across Europe.

 

Annette started her career with Ryanair in 2001, as part of the London-Stansted-based Sales and Marketing team. Annette successfully worked on the launch of three aircraft bases from a sales and promotional stance in Germany, Sweden and Italy as well as numerous new route launches throughout the UK, Ireland and Europe during a huge expansion phase for the low-cost airline.

 

From there, Annette moved into the tourism sphere as Marketing Manager working with Visit Liverpool and B&B Ireland, the national B&B accommodation body in Ireland, before taking up a position as Sales Manager for Aer Arann (now Stobart Air) based in Dublin. 

 

More recently, Annette has provided tourism bodies and visitor attractions in Liverpool and Cheshire with strategic marketing support, event marketing planning and project delivery.

 

Annette has a BA degree in German and Sociology from University College Dublin and an MSc. in Tourism Management from Dublin Institute of Technology.
